We need your help to stop the Government restricting Usdaw’s ability to continue to provide its comprehensive first-class Legal Plus service in the future. Under Theresa May's plans, more injured workers will be forced into the small claims court where the costs of legal representation cannot be recovered from negligent employers.
Over 350,000 accident victims per year who currently receive legal representation will have this essential support removed by unfair, unnecessary and unjustified legislation. As a result, most injured workers will be forced to fend for themselves; while employers will still be able to pay for expensive lawyers to represent them. Usdaw fears that this will have a damaging effect on workplace health and safety standards.
Contact your MP and ask them to make the Government think again about blocking access to justice for injured workers.
