Mental Health Awareness Week

Date: 13 - 19 May 2024

Usdaw members across the UK are supporting Mental Health Awareness Week from 13-19 May.

Mental Health Awareness Week takes place at the same time every year. It's an opportunity for everyone to come together to focus on promoting what makes for good mental health. The week aims to tackle stigma and help people understand and prioritise their own and others' mental health.

Each year there is a different theme for Mental Health Awareness Week and this year the focus is on 'Movement' and the positive impact movement and moving around can have on our mental health.

Find out how you can get involved and raise awareness of where to seek help and support by visiting mentalhealth-uk.org

Usdaw has publishd a wide range of leaflets to signpost members to sources of support with their mental health and to raise awareness of rights at work where a member's health is having an impact on their attendance or performance.

No-one expects you to be an expert, but if you have the time to listen and then help by signposting them to support organisations, or helping them get the right support at work, you can make a big difference.

You can view Usdaw's leaflets on mental health here as well as order workplace campaign materials should you want to organise a mental health campaign day in your workplace.
