Under the terms of the agreement, Mars will acquire all Kellanova brands, assets, and operations. The agreement, unanimously approved by the Board of Directors, is subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the first half of 2025.
Usdaw area organiser Mick Murray says: “The proposed announcement may have come as a surprise to Usdaw members at the Kellanova sites in Trafford Park and Wrexham.
“Senior management with Kellanova have confirmed that the announcement does not affect the Trafford Park site closure which was announced in February 2023 and is due to close in 2026.
“I want to reassure members that, currently, there is no change at the sites, and it’s business as usual. I will update members as and when I receive further news. The Union is available to support any members who may have concerns.”
