Health and wellbeing

Usdaw takes both the physical and mental wellbeing of its members very seriously

The physical, emotional, social and intellectual wellbeing of our members is very important to the Union.

We run campaigns throughout the year on health and wellbeing issues but we can also give you advice on mental health, domestic violence and much more.

Ask us a question here or scroll down to find out more information on the subjects that matter most to you.

Are you affected by domestic violence?

We are committed to support any member in this difficult situation.

Usdaw has for many years sought to support members who are experiencing domestic violence and, while the vast majority are women, it can affect men too. It can happen in heterosexual and same-sex relationships.

Social Media and mental health

What's the issue?

Research has shown that social media can have a negative impact on mental health. Read our advice on enjoying social media while minimising the risks.

Supporting members with menopause symptoms

The menopause is a natural part of the ageing process and yet in many workplaces is still regarded as a taboo subject. Many women experience significant physical and emotional side effects during the menopause years and often find their symptoms are made worse by work.
