Tomorrow morning from 6am, Usdaw members at Sainsbury’s Waltham Point will take strike action over the company’s changes to the attendance policy. The strike action will last for 24 hours.

TUC's 'This Is Not Working' campaign - tackling sexual harassment - welcomed and supported by Usdaw

Shopworkers’ trade union Usdaw has welcomed a new TUC campaign to tackle sexual harassment in the workplace. The ‘This Is Not Working’ campaign calls on the Government to take immediate action with a new, easily enforceable legal duty requiring employers to take all reasonable steps to protect workers from sexual harassment and victimisation.

Activists from the union will be joined by Fran Boait (Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate for Gloucester) and engaging with the shopping public to urge them to support the campaign by signing the ‘Save our Shops’ petition.

Usdaw to protest at tomorrow's Boohoo AGM and questions the company's ethical trading credentials

Retail trade union Usdaw is continuing their campaign for recognition at online clothes retailer Boohoo by asking shareholders to consider the impact of the company’s questionable ethical trading credentials. Boohoo is persistently blocking Usdaw, despite a recommendation from a parliamentary committee and the Ethicial Trading Initiative (ETI), and has instructed staff not to speak to the union and to bin Usdaw leaflets.

Justice for former Lockwoods Liverpool Limited workers - Usdaw calls for reform of insolvency law to protect staff and taxpayers

Usdaw has won justice for members who worked for Lockwoods Liverpool Limited, a meat processing factory in Liverpool. The Liverpool Employment Tribunal granted a Protective Award after they agreed that there was no information or consultation with Usdaw and no special circumstances allowing the company not to comply with its legal obligations.

Usdaw calls for strike action at Sainsbury's Distribution Centre

Following yesterday’s overwhelming ballot result, Usdaw has now informed Sainsbury’s of our intention to take strike action on Thursday, 27 June 2019. The strike action, which will start at 6am and last for 24 hours, will affect warehouse workers at Sainsbury’s Waltham Point Distribution Centre.

Living Wage Foundation's new 'Living Hours' campaign welcomed by Usdaw

Shopworkers’ trade union Usdaw has welcomed the Living Wage Foundation’s (LWF) new ‘Living Hours’ campaign, which focuses on the issues of job insecurity and underemployment. The LWF describe the campaign as a practical solution that employers can adopt to help provide the security and stability that low paid workers need to make ends meet.
