Retail, warehouse and distribution trade union Usdaw has been briefed by Studio Retail, a home shopping business wholly owned by Frasers Group, about proposals to restructure the business, which could have a significant impact on staff in the Accrington, Trafford and Widnes sites.

ADM 2024 debates education and lifelong learning – Usdaw renews the call for reinstatement of the Union Learning Fund

Retail trade union Usdaw has today renewed the call for the reinstatement of the Union Learning Fund, which was abolished in England in 2021 by the Conservative Government. The fund provided valuable resources for union reps to work in partnership with employers to provide lifelong learning for members.

ADM 2024: Usdaw delegates back a social tariff for household energy and a price cap on essential food items

Usdaw delegates at their Annual Delegate Meeting in Blackpool’s Winter Gardens have today debated the economy, the cost of living crisis and its impact on working people. The conference backed calls for a social tariff, that would ensure cheaper household energy bills, and a cap on the price of essential food, to ensure that families can provide basic meals.

ADM 2024: TUC General Secretary praises Usdaw’s campaigning work and sets out shared priorities

Retail trade union Usdaw today welcomed Paul Nowak, Trades Union Congress (TUC) General Secretary, to their Annual Delegate Meeting (ADM) in Blackpool’s Winter Gardens. In a keynote conference address, he congratulated Usdaw on securing the promise of legislation to tackle abuse of shopworkers, while highlighting our shared priorities of winning a Labour Government, securing a new deal for working people and continuing to build the trade union movement.
