Single Parents’ Day 2023: Usdaw celebrates the work of Gingerbread and highlights the issues working single parents face

Retail trade union Usdaw is today recognising Single Parents’ Day by celebrating the role and work of Gingerbread, the leading national charity that has been working with and campaigning on behalf of single parent families since 1918. The union is also using the day to highlight the pressures working single parents face and the need for a new deal for workers on pay and employment rights.

Stand up to racism: Usdaw sends a message of solidarity with this weekend’s marchers

Retail trade union Usdaw, the TUC and many more are joining the ‘Stand Up to Racism’ march on United Nations anti-racism day, Saturday 18 March. Marches will take place in Cardiff, Glasgow and London, promoting the message: “Refugees welcome – stop the ban on asylum”.

Labour announces workplace support for women with menopause – Usdaw welcomes the ground-breaking policy

Retail trade union Usdaw has welcomed today’s policy announcement by Labour to require large firms to set out Menopause Action Plans detailing how they are supporting women with menopause at work. The policy forms part of Labour’s offer to working women, with one in ten aged 45-55 having left their jobs due to menopausal symptoms.
