Event to be held in Glasgow to celebrate the Protection of Workers (Scotland) Act coming into effect on 24 August 2021

On the eve of the Protection of Workers (Retail and Age-restricted Goods and Services) (Scotland) Act coming into effect on Tuesday 24 August, Shopworkers’ trade union Usdaw, Daniel Johnson MSP, sponsor of the Act, and representatives of the Co-op Group, a key supporter of the Act, will meet today with shopworkers in Glasgow to highlight the significant new protections for retail workers introduced by the Act.

Usdaw supporting members through the proposed TUPE transfer of Tesco Bank staff to Arrow

Tesco Bank announced plans to transfer its collections and recoveries operations (Financial Assist) within its Customer Service division to Arrow Global, a specialist provider of services to customers in financial difficulty. The partnership is expected to result in 236 roles transferring to Arrow on 1 November 2021.

Weetabix 24-hour strike will start at 7pm today as dispute continues about shift pay

Usdaw members at the Weetabix AP4 plant in Kettering, which produces cereal bars, have rejected a company offer intended to resolve the dispute and will start a 24-hour stoppage from 7pm on Monday 16 August.

BCM Fareva, Nottingham: Usdaw members to take further industrial action on Sunday and Monday in ‘fire and rehire’ dispute

Members of Usdaw at BCM Fareva will begin a further stoppage on Sunday 15 August, which will continue into Monday. The strike follows three previous stoppages at the end of July.
